Altered sense of taste and smell

Cancer or the different cancer treatments can cause this to occur. Dental problems too can worsen this situation. Meats and high protein foods and sometimes-even vegetables (like broccoli) may taste metallic or bitter.
Improve the taste of foods by marinating them in sweet fruit juices, sweet and sour sauces, and yogurt with garlic and ginger paste to reduce the bitter/ metallic flavor.
Serve food at room or at cold temperatures.
Use lots of herbs and spices to add flavor to the food and mask their taste.
Eat more of those foods that do taste good.
Ask your dentist about how to maintain oral hygiene and about special mouthwashes that may help.
