Dry mouth / Increased thirst

Suck on sugar free hard candy or chewing gum to help produce more saliva.
Eat foods with sauces and gravies to moisten the mouth and make it easier to swallow.
Avoid dry, hard items such as crackers, chips, pretzels, dry toast, rusk that can stick in the throat.
Sip water frequently.
