A diet high in meat and fat can increase your risk of developing skin cancer?

A dietary pattern characterized by high meat and fat intakes was found to increase squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) tumor risk (a type of skin cancer), particularly in persons with a skin cancer history. Australian researchers found that a high consumption of fruit and vegetables, especially green leafy vegetables significantly reduced the risk of SCC. It is therefore beneficial to avoid fatty foods, overly processed foods and foods with high amounts of sugar. Source: American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, May 2007- June 09, 2007
